She’s always prepared for marketing, travel and zombies: Meet Stephanie!
Follow the yellow brick road to meet the wizards behind the curtain at Accelity! We might not practice magic, but we can make content appear in the blink of an eye. In this blog series, we will feature one of our talented team members so you can see what we are all about. This month’s star is Stephanie Roland!
What drew you to Accelity?
At first, it was the sheer genius of the well-thought-out blog, content offerings and list of services. Then, during the interview process, it was the people. I thought to myself, “I HAVE to work there! I just have to!” Now that I’m here, the team dynamic and atmosphere are intoxicating! Everyone roots for each other and I think it’s the best environment for producing amazing work.
What advice would you give someone looking to get started in marketing?
If you’re seeking a career in marketing, take the time to read about marketing and other related topics in your free time. Whether it’s a book or blogs, the knowledge you can gain is extremely valuable to not only a potential employer, but potential clients.
If you weren’t in marketing, what would your second career choice be?
I’ve seen marketing as my “true love” career for a long time so I’ve never really given this much thought, but I do enjoy cooking, so perhaps I’d be a chef.
What is your favorite movie quote?
I have a hard time picking favorites—for anything really—and movies and movie quotes are no exception; there are too many I enjoy. If pressed, I guess there are two you can find me saying most often: “You’re killin’ me, Smalls!” from The Sandlot and, “You go, Glen Coco!” from Mean Girls.
If you could have one special power what would it be?
Super speed or teleportation. I love to travel and I have loved ones living all across the globe. I would love nothing more than to have the ability to take a trip to Europe or California at the drop of a hat and without the hassle of the plane ride itself.
What is the most memorable thing about Milwaukee to you?
There’s not one thing that I feel is most memorable about Milwaukee, I think it’s the memories you create here with those you love that stand out.
A zombie apocalypse just happened in Milwaukee, what is your plan to survive?
“The first rule of Zombieland: Cardio!” You always have to be prepared for this kind of stuff, so be sure to exercise—that’s step one. Next, gather weapons, food and a few loved ones and head to a less populated area. Beyond what I already have in my home, I’m not sure what my plan would be to actually acquire additional items and get to where I wanted to go, but I feel like I’m resourceful and a quick thinker under pressure so I’d be alright…or become a zombie. Who knows!?
